Welcome Our New DCES Executive Director
Beth MacAller
We are thrilled to welcome Beth MacAller as the new Executive Director of Diabetes Camping and Educational Services (DCES), the organization behind Camp Conrad Chinnock. For nearly 70 years, our camp community has created a place where children living with Type 1 Diabetes can experience the freedom, adventure, and lifelong friendships that come with summer camp, while surrounded by peers who understand their daily challenges. Beth brings a deep passion for this mission and a lifetime of experience in the nonprofit sector. Her very first professional role after college was running Clara Barton Camp for Girls with Diabetes in North Oxford, Massachusetts. Since then, she has remained dedicated to the life-changing impact camp can have on young people and their families.

Beth's connection to camp is both professional and deeply personal. She grew up counting down the days to overnight camp each year and still shares friendships from those summers more than 40 years later. She even met her husband at camp, and her two daughters grew up attending YMCA Camp Cory in Upstate New York, where Beth is originally from. With DCES continuing to grow and expand programs such as family camps, teen leadership development, and diabetes education for families, we are excited for Beth to help guide the next chapter of our work supporting our Type 1 diabetes community!
